March Madness!

Happy March Madness,

Growing up with a dad who played basketball his entire life and then went on to join the Syracuse team, you could kind of tell how March is important in the Katz family. Before the NCAA tournament begins each person in the family makes their own bracket. Whoever gets the most games right, wins a prize!

Of course, the only show which has been on TV the last week are the basketball games! Everyone in my family was rooting for Syracuse but sadly we lost last night! Pretty much all of our family lunches and dinners over the weekend revolve around the game times. If we want to go out for dinner the restaurant MUST have a television! It is not only fun and exciting watching the games but also stressful. The games can get so intense that you don't know what to do with yourself. Syracuse

Color on color

Happy Spring! Color is starting to bloom from nature to fashion! Put away your boots and heavy coats and take out your sandals and cardigans. Spring is such a happy time, people are in better moods and everyone begins going outdoors again.

Although I am able to wear shorts all year long, many people are not. This season is all about dressing in color. It can be hard for people like me who always like to wear black and white to start adding brightness into their wardrobe. A trick which makes a huge difference is by adding a tint of color into your outfit. For example, if you are wearing a black top and bottom instead of adding gold or silver jewelry add a colorful long necklace or earrings. A tint of color changes your entire look!

Here are some fun colorful pieces to add into your closet:

Jewelry says it all!

Handbags

Scarf

Fun in the sun!

Who says phones can't be accessorized?

Work those legs!

Sun, Sandals, Sand, Sea Shells, and Sweaters

You know what they say, white always works!

Flats are back!

Travel Must Haves

Spring Break is coming up soon which also means traveling for some people. This year my spring break falls in the middle of April. It is a lot later than usual and I wish it were sooner. This semester has been so hectic with school work, after school activities, and traveling. I went to Washington, D.C. for a debate competition with my school during February and last weekend I was in Culebra with friends. Both trips were so much fun! No matter were I travel there are certain objects I always carry with me in my bag. They come in handy during all activities and work in all temperatures.
1. Cardigan
2. Camera
3. Kindle
4. Headphones
5. IPhone
6. Sunglasses
7. Wallet
8. Body lotion
9. Chapstick
10. Hand sanitizer

The New It Girl

Lupita Nyong'o is not just the talk of the town but also of the world right now. She isn't talked about only for her beautiful looks but additionally, for her elegance in her presence and the message she is sending to others. Lupita differently from others is not famous for showing off her body or just being an actress but for the powerful, strong women she is and the lessons she has been able to share to others. She reminds everyone no matter what background you come from, you should always be proud of who you are. It is important not to ignore the need for more emphasis on the importance of internal beauty instead of external beauty. Lupita is an inspiration to myself and many others. The world is in need of more Lupita's!
